Award season has come early, and what a way to kick it off! We’re delighted to announce that Malones Triple Cask Irish Whiskey has been awarded a bronze medal at the World Whiskies Awards, in the competitive category of Irish blended whiskies.
About The World Whiskies Awards
The World Whiskies Awards select and recognise the best whiskies through a rigorous judging process, including multiple rounds of blind tasting. Aroma, taste and finish are all taken into consideration, and medals are handed out to those that stand out from each country.
Bronze, silver and gold medals are highly coveted in this global competition, with hundreds of brands from across the globe entering each year.
The World Drinks Awards are presented each year by TheDrinksReport.com. They say,
“The awards have grown beyond early recognitions and now prove popular with both producers and consumers, as we all seek a slice of the World’s Best.”
One Of The Best
Like many whiskey drinkers, we love any excuse for a celebration, so we’re shouting it from the rooftop bar with a dram of our award-winning whiskey in hand for all to hear – “Malones Triple Cask has taken its place as one of the best Irish whiskies in the world!”
About Malones Irish Whiskey
Malones Triple Cask Irish Whiskey is the vision of an Irish publican family come to life. They saw an opportunity over lockdown to work together to create their dream whiskey. The goal? To use their vast experience of running (and drinking in) Irish pubs to make a great Irish whiskey that resonates with everyone, whether they’re a seasoned collector, or trying whiskey for the first time. The result is a uniquely versatile whiskey with complex flavours that can be enjoyed mixed, neat or over ice. Just like you’ll find in one of Malones Irish pubs, at the heart of Malones Irish Whiskey are the values of family, community and friendship.
Distilled in Dublin’s historic whiskey district, the Liberties, Malones Irish Whiskey is infused with complex flavours from a trinity of casks. Kentucky bourbon casks contribute rich, warm vanilla, which marry with ripe dark fruit flavours given by Oloroso sherry casks, and rustic oak and toffee apple comes from red ale casks.
As well as being at the top of their game for quality, our partner distillery in Dublin are pioneers in sustainable distilling, and members of Origin Green. Grain is grown on site in an environment tailored to the needs of wildlife; the supply chain is fully controlled to minimise carbon emissions, and all cardboard packaging and labels are FSC certified. Our goal is to aid in making whiskey production a sustainable process - after all - who doesn’t love to enjoy a dram in the great outdoors? It is up to us to protect it.
On the nose you’ll be greeted by aromas of fresh citrus and crisp vegetal notes. Oak spices develop into hearty dried fruitcake. On the palate, warming spice and green apples evolve into demerara sugar and caramelised pear, with a lasting impression of spice, sweet apple, cinnamon and silky vanilla.
Award Winning Whiskies
We’re so proud of what our Irish Whiskey has achieved in such a short amount of time, having launched only last March. Being recognised among some of the best and well-established Irish whiskey brands, such as Powers, Pearse Lyons, Dunville’s and Midleton is no mean feat!
