Apple Drop
The apple drop cocktail is just how it sounds, light, refreshing and fruity. Apple juice deliciously compliments the caramel and cinnamon flavours in the Malones Irish Whiskey creating a sweet and breezy cocktail with hints of apple pie. The apple fan garnish is beautiful and a fun challenge if you’re feeling creative.
You’ll Need:
50ml Malones Triple Cask Irish Whiskey
25ml fresh apple juice
Fever-Tree Premium Lemonade to top
1 apple for apple fan garnish
How To Make:
Build the Malones Triple Cask Irish Whiskey and fresh apple juice into a Hi-Ball glass and fill with ice. Stir a few times with a bar spoon to chill and combine the flavours. Pour in the lemonade to top. For the apple fan garnish half an apple – avoiding the stem and core – so you’ll end up with one slightly bigger half that includes the core and one slightly smaller half. Place the smaller piece of apple onto a chopping board and turn it 90 degrees so it is horizontal (imagining you are standing south, the top where the stem was should be facing east or west). Then slice into thin sections, the more slices the thinner and more delicate they’ll be. Now select the apple slices you’d like to use for your fan (the edge sections may be too small). Hold them side by side and use a cocktail stick to pierce through all the slices in between the middle and the bottom, holding them together. Finally fan them out and balance the cocktail stick on the rim of your Hi-Ball glass so that the tips of the apple slices are submerged in the delicious Apple Drop cocktail.
