Whatever you call it, we guarantee you’ll start with ‘this is amazing, why haven’t I had this before?!

A Smuggler’s citrus-gin twist on the classic margarita, this will give you that refreshing, crispy zing while solving all the day’s ills…

What makes this work so well is the botanicals in Smuggler’s gin have been dried at the perfect temperature to remain vibrant and flavourful.

What is that perfect temp?

37degrees.  The same as a beehive, and a healthy human - so we know it’s how nature intended ;-)

The beautiful botanicals and citrus tones of the Smuggler’s small-batch, hand crafted gin, marry perfectly with the lime and lemon of the drink.   For an extra special twist, you can add a pinch of Mexican heritage to the salt rim, too!

If you’re feeling the authentic twist, make up the Tajin to rim the glass by adding the zest of the lime, chilli powder (10g), 2g ground cumin, 2g Cayenne pepper, 2g ground coriander and 1g of sugar.  Mix well and press the wet rim of the glass firmly (but not too firmly!), rolling around the mixture to coat the rim well.

Play with the chilli and cayenne pepper to get the right level of spice for you!

INGREDIENTS
  • 50ML Smuggler’s Gin
  • 25Ml Triple Sec
  • Juice of ½ lime - freshly squeezed
  • Salt flakes to rim the glass
Method
Wet the rim of the glass and press it into the salt flakes (or tajin) to form a rim around the edge of the glass. In the shaker, add ice, gin, triple sec and freshly squeezed lime (½). Shake for 5 seconds and strain into the glass. Add a slice of lemon or lime (or orange, if you prefer!) to the glass, and enjoy…
